We are also reviewing and learning library skills.
The first week in the library went great. The students were amazing. We are reading some fractured fairy tales and the older kids are getting an introduction to Louis Sachar's newest book called Fuzzy Mud.

Once again, I have every good intention to post more often to this blog. We have class blogs along the top, but students will likely be using Edmodo for these kind of activities.
In this puzzle you will choose one word from each title and rearrange those words into a beautiful Valentine quote. Each of these books can be found in Beacon Heights Library. If you can identify the author of the quote, put it in the comments here.
Put the puzzle together and find the secret word
Here is the order for checkouts of the book Wonder.
We have been reading from a book called Wonder. This was written by R. J Palacio. It is about a boy whose face is extremely disfigured and he is entering school for the first time in the 5th grade. It is a very touching book about courage and friendship. There is a copy of this book on the 6 Blue Kindles. I have ordered and received 3 hardback copies and they are ready to be checked out. If you want to be the first, you will need to convince me I should choose you. At the bottom of this post you can write a comment. In your comment, tell me why you want to read this. All convincing comments will be put in the hat and 3 winners will be drawn out on Saturday, September 21. Winners will be posted on this blog. Be sure to include your first name and teacher in your comments. This video was created to help you understand how to find non-fiction books in our library. It will also show you how to recognize non-fiction books in our library catalog. Check out our catalog byclicking here. |
